Requirement
The client requires green star rating for a smart building and thus monitoring of water consumption and leak detection for cooling, irrigation and drinking water systems. Integration of all captured data into existing BMS via ModBus TCP. The location of the bulk water meters makes wiring not possible.
Solution
An On-premise IoT solution was implemented using IQnexus LoRaWAN gateways and Pulse Totalisers. An NBnano was used to manage the On-Premise LoRaWAN network and devices. The IQnexus NBnano is a fully integrated LoRaWAN device management system that translates LoRaWAN to BACnet, ModBus and other BMS protocols. The LoRaWAN indoor gateways provide a strong and deep penetrating network that allows communication between the water meters in the building. The LoRaWAN Pulse Totalisers collect water usage from multiple water meter types and provide total consumption and leak detection alerts directly to the BMS.
